Creating a 90-Day Resilient Solopreneur Challenge the week after Thanksgiving is a choice most people would avoid.
I apparently looked at my calendar, shrugged, and thought, sure, let’s rebuild my entire business ecosystem while also caring for five newborn kittens.
I’m creating this resilience challenge from scratch because I know from experience that structured momentum works for me. And I’m fairly confident it will work for you, too.
So I built a preliminary tracking sheet and decided to figure out the framework by living it day by day.
Once the kinks are worked out, this challenge will live inside the brand-new Gratitude Geek Lab. For now, it’s my self-assigned experiment in momentum, clarity, and simply doing the work.
Since November 30, I’ve published and scheduled more content than I have in ages, migrated my podcast, started building a community home, and navigated a surprise feline maternity ward.
If resilience had a smell, my week would reek of it.
What I Published (and Why It Matters)
Showing up daily for this resilient solopreneur challenge is certainly helping maintain my momentum. In the first ten days, I managed to release:
- 5 restored Gratitude Geek legacy episodes
- 2 brand-new episodes, including the milestone 300th
- 1 “5 Lessons” article
- 1 Coffee Hour archive clip on headshot dos and don’ts
- 1 LinkedIn bro DM breakdown, featuring my very real response
Now granted, I have a master plan for my website and my new community and that plan informs everything I do.
Y’all know I’m a systems gal, and the Resilient Solopreneur Challenge inside the Gratitude Geek Lab will be how I teach those systems going forward as I rebuild my brand.
The Business Upgrades That Somehow Also Happened
Podcast Migration to Megaphone
Gratitude Geek officially joined the Marketing Podcast Network, and the network runs on Megaphone. So I moved everything over.
It’s not perfect, but it has features I actually like, and being aligned with the network matters more than staying put out of habit.
Sci-Fi Book Pod will make the jump before the end of the month, because it’s rude to leave one podcast child behind.
Building the Gratitude Geek Lab on Heartbeat
The Lab is taking shape. Slowly. Quietly. In between everything else. I’m still testing what the 90-day resilience challenge is, whether the tracking tool makes sense, and if it should be 90 days or 12 weeks.
Heartbeat already feels like a calmer, saner place to build a community for Gen X solopreneurs who don’t want noise. We Gen X women want connection, clarity, and highly caffeinated action.
Meanwhile, the Cat Population Expanded
A few months ago, a tiny cat walked into our home, sat down, and essentially announced, “I live here now.” We named her Nyx.
We also assumed she was a kitten herself because she’s so small. She was not. And, she was pregnant.
Nyx had five kittens. She’s fantastic momma. They’re too young to rehome, but all five already have humans waiting for them.
All of this is happening while two adult cats supervise from afar, deeply unimpressed.
Why This Wild Ten-Day Stretch Matters
This isn’t productivity theater. And it’s certainly not hustle and grind (gag me with a spoon). It’s the messy truth of building something new while holding everything else together.
These ten days reminded me that:
- Clarity comes from action, not planning
- Publishing daily pulls old ideas into fresh focus
- A business can evolve mid-stride if you let it
- Structural upgrades don’t need perfect timing
- Resilience shows up in the margins, not the milestones
This diary series will continue through December as I refine the resilience challenge in real time and build the Lab around what actually works, not what sounds cute in a workbook.
For now, the podcasts are stable, the kittens are thriving, and the content stream hasn’t sputtered out. I’d say that’s pretty darn resilient.
Stay Groovy!
