Spread the Love
Today is Easter, and it has me reflecting on a memory from a few years ago. My husband and I were new to our community and decided to attend Easter services at the local Unitarian Church.
I learned 2 money lessons from church that day:
Lesson 1: Money Is Like Manure
That Sunday morning, during the greeting portion of the service, a young boy walked up, shook my hand, and handed me a single penny. I smiled, thanked him, and slipped it into my pocket.
Later came the “noisy offering,” where the children collected loose change for their programs. I tossed in that penny, plus all the spare change from my purse. One small gesture led to several dollars in contribution.
It reminded me of a line from Hello, Dolly!:
“Money, pardon the expression, is like manure. It’s not worth a thing unless it’s spread around, encouraging young things to grow.”
Generosity, in life and in business, multiplies. Share your knowledge, uplift others, and invest in your community. That’s where growth starts.

Lesson 2: Clarity Creates Contribution
That same day, a church leader shared that unless donations increased, services and programming would be drastically reduced.
But they never said how much was needed. No numbers. No goal. Just urgency.
My husband leaned over and whispered, “They need one of those fundraising thermometers.”
Exactly. People can’t support what they can’t see. Whether it’s a church, a podcast, or a small business, transparency drives results.
Be clear about your goals—financial or otherwise—and people will show up to help you achieve them.
Let’s Grow Together with Purpose
This Easter, whether you’re surrounded by family, reflecting quietly, or planning your next business move, I invite you to consider:
- How can you “spread” your resources to help others grow?
- Are your goals clear enough that others know how to support you?
And if you’re craving connection and clarity in your business, Robusta is the perfect place to plant those seeds. We mastermind, learn, and build meaningful momentum—together.
