Today is Monday and this is my weekly Sunday recap video. I decided to end my relationship with the service I’ve been using to record my podcasts. I spent Sunday downloading files and ensuring I have everything I need before I cancel my subscription.
Also, I’m doing something that may sound counter intuitive. I’m taking a 90 day break from posting podcast content to social media.
I already quietly exited from most social media 18 months ago, anyway.
Three things are informing this decision:
- Hosting Practical Digital Minimalism with Kelsey Green (replay available inside Gratitude Geek Lab).
- This video from Podmatch founder, Alex Sanfilippo: The Best Podcast Growth Strategy Isn’t Social Media.
- I can not name one listener who have found my show through social media.
Here’s what I am going to do instead:
- Update the SEO on my back catalog.
- Utilize YouTube community posts.
- Repurpose episodes into useful tools & content for Gen X women solopreneurs.
I circled October 11th on my calendar to evaluate the results of this experiment.
Upcoming Events
Occasionally, I host public virtual workshops and events that women business owners may find useful. Here’s what’s coming up:
- Creative Collab Mixer for women bloggers, vloggers, podcasters and thought-leaders. June 24th. 2-3:30 PM ET. Register.
Can’t join us live? Join the Gratitude Geek Lab and get access to all these live events plus the full archive of past sessions.
For Lab Members
- Pomodoro Co-Working. Mondays. Noon-1:30 PM ET.

Weekly Post Recap
And now, here’s the recap of the posts from this past week:
- Posting Zero and My Quiet Exit from Social Media
- 331: Kandas Rodarte Announces a New Podcast Direction Centering Female Founder Momentum
- 299: Ursula Mentjes on Image Cycling for Solopreneurs and Subconscious Success
- 215: Weaving Love Into Your Solo Business (Hibby Bartlett)
- Gratitude Powers Real Business Resilience for Solopreneurs
- 153: Economist Maya Ford on Housing Equity in Houston, Texas
If you are a frequent reader, then you know I’ve been rebuilding my podcast archive for a couple of years now, after my original blog, momgeek.com, was hacked. Thus, the older podcast episode recaps (ya know, the titles that start with numbers).
Looking forward
This week on Gratitude Geek, we are talking with Jenna Bannister about automations for women solopreneurs. It’s the first episode in my 12-week female founder momentum series. Jenna automated 95% of her land business and it gave her the freedom she wanted to spend more time with her kids.
Stay Groovy!
